EVENTS

Build your consulting skills with Deloitte's mini-course
Looking to start a career in Consulting? Deloitte’s mini-course includes a one-hour lecture where you will gain insight into some of the strategies consultants use in their day-to-day lives. The topic Analyzing Complex Problems will be based on the mini-course taught by Deloitte at the University of Toronto. Following the lecture, you will receive a small case where you will apply the skillset you just learned. In addition, you’ll get introduced to consulting strategies, receive mentoring support during the thought process, hone your presentation skills, and get feedback on your analysis.

The Next 36 Entrepreneurship Competition
The Next 36 helps to launch the careers of Canada’s most promising and innovative undergraduates, with CEO mentorship from Canada’s top business leaders and entrepreneurs. The Next 36 is bringing their entrepreneurship experience to the Tour Toronto through an entrepreneurship challenge that will test both the creative ability and the entrepreneurial drive of delegates. Delegates will be asked to innovate and design a mobile application that solves an existing problem. They will be tasked with creating a business plan and solving any roadblocks they may encounter with their design. They will then present their ideas to a panel of judges consisting of senior members and partners at The Next 36. Delegates will get the experience of working on strict timelines to orchestrate and present a mobile application capable of sustaining a business while getting the expertise from veterans in the field.

TEAM

  Abhishek Mathur
Tour Chair
Abhishek is a Mechanical Engineer at University of Toronto. He whole-heartedly believes in the 4-stroke engine concept: suck, squeeze, bang, blow. When he's not cracking silly, immature jokes, he can be caught organizing events and conferences, turning new ideas into reality and learning how to master life.
  Qasim Mian
Toronto Lead
Qasim is a perfectionist with a passion for smartphones, gizmos and anything else moving the world forward. He can often be seen updating his facebook status, gaming on his smartphone or just hanging out with other techies. When not running conferences, representing the engineering student body or studying for finals, he can often be seen playing the sax or watching old bollywood films.
  S. Mohammad Mahmood
Logistics Team Member
Mohammad is the contemplating skeptic. Although he might not throw his insights and opinions at you, if only you could listen to the conversations in his head, you'd be like "Dude! Can’t handle it, unplug this bastard!" He also loves to try new things just to say he’s been there or done that, even if it were only once. He might be better off sticking to something long enough to become good at yet he rarely does so.
  Priyanka Ranjan
Logistics Team Member
Priyanka is a computer engineering student at the University of Toronto and is currently doing her internship with the Apple group in AMD. She is not a complete tech geek but she absolutely loves all Apple products! In her free time she volunteers as a tutor and takes some fun classes. She is a huge fan of movies like The Matrix and Lord of the Rings and can often be found spending hours watching them.
  Mustafa Faraj
Speakers/Competitions Head
Mustafa spends most of his free time reading tech blogs and learning about the technological possibilities in the future. That is when he is not playing soccer, photographing nature or working to get his Computer Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.
  Shally Malik
Marketing Head
Addicted to business, law and shopping, Shally is a business student at University of Western Ontario. If she's not studying or partying, she's either painting, spending money wildly, or playing basketball or rugby. Warning: If you catch her with headphones in her ear, its not music, its Bloomberg radio (or occasionally class lectures, which she unintentionally sleeps throughout...).
  Sagar Malik
Marketing Team Member
"I will persist until I succeed. I was not brought into this world into defeat, nor does failure course through my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be prodded by my shepherd. I am a lion, and I refuse to talk, walk and sleep with the sheep. I will persist until I succeed." - Og Mandino Sagar is a die-hard entrepreneur that is bent upon revolutionizing the way the world works and interacts. As such, his interests are deep rooted in nanotechnology, augmented reality, renewable energy, philanthropy and real estate. He believes that greatness is a birthright, and he encourages people to believe that we are all entitled to dream big and live big.
